Florence house adult day centre is located on a farm in Dearham, between Cockermouth & Maryport. The centre boasts stunning views of the lake district fells and is surrounded by open fields and country side. The day centre is in a secure courtyard setting giving clients the opportunity to access outside space if they wish.

The centre caters for clients who are physically disabled from the age of 18 years upwards, people with early onset dementia, older age dementia, learning disabilities and old age. We aim to have specific days for different client groups so that people can enjoy socialisation.

The outside space at Florence house offers a variety of activities which include the following; The opportunity to care for animals, a pig, micro pigs, rabbits, cage birds and a pony. There is a joiners work store, potting shed, green house and raised beds. There are outside seating areas and also walks to two ponds which attract wildlife such as geese, ducks and swans.

Inside the centre offers a sensory room, therapy room, the chance for people to have their hair washed and be pampered, art & craft activities, baking, tv, music, reading, quiz sessions & reminiscence therapy.

We want to offer people the opportunity to access care which is truly person centred. Ensuring that people continue to have a purpose in life and remain focused, maintaining dignity and independence.

Our service is flexible to meet peoples needs, we can offer full days care or just a few hours.
Full days care includes a home cooked two course lunch and afternoon and morning snacks.
Transport can be provided in certain circumstances.
